Starting with PJ day on Tuesday, Leadership is hosting Holiday Week to cheer up students as the semester comes to an end and finals approach. Holiday Week Committee member junior Richa Israni explained that the committee meant to put up posters last week, but poor weather and Thanksgiving break delayed promotion until the Sunday and Monday before.

“We had a bunch of events [last week], so we were kind of struggling with planning this,” Israni said. “But watch out today for Facebook promo and the School Loop email.”

The schedule for the week includes dress-up days and lunchtime festivities such as cookie decorating and polaroids with Santa. Israni explained that the committee is trying to expand the week’s focus to holidays in general, instead of just Christmas.

“We’re trying to make it not all Christmas, so it’s not a holiday tree, it’s a holiday bush,” Israni said. “We’re trying to promote other holidays too.”

She is most excited for the Candy Cane Grams that will be sent out during fifth period on Friday, Dec. 4.

“They’re free and I just think that’s really cool to send,” Israni said. “[We want] to spread holiday cheer and make everybody happy because people love the holidays.”

On Nov. 30, Leadership adviser Jenna Smith sent out an LoopMail to students with the schedule for the week. The Holiday Week Committee had to delay promotion due to poor weather last week and the Thanksgiving break.
