Leo Club is selling shutter shades to raise money for the Luxottica Group Foundation “OneSight”. The charity organization provides glasses and other vision care worldwide for children and families in need.

“Kids who have a lot of potential have to be able to see clearly,” Director of Projects sophomore Alice Ma said. “We hope to help them [through this project].”

The fundraiser started Dec. 2, and according to Director of Activities sophomore Jessica Ho, several members have already sold out.

The inspiration for the fundraiser came from the Cupertino branch of Lions International — the De Anza Lions Club.

“[They] have been working together [with OneSight] for a really long time,” said president senior Tiffany Wu. “They told us it’s a really interesting organization we should consider.”

Leo Club officers are offering members who sell the greatest number of shutter shades a free Leo Club crewneck or a $20 giftcard as incentives to continue fundraising. The event will end when the club sells out, which Ho estimates will be in early January.

The shutter shades are $2 each and can be bought from any Leo Club member or officer.
